Summary

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg answered questions from the crowd in a live Q&A. Questions were submitted through Facebook and he also took questions from the crowd present in the “town hall” style event. He talked about the features of Facebook that never saw the light of the day, accuracy of the 2010 movie “The Social Network,” Facebook and its “coolness,” and why he wears the same shirt every day. He stated that Facebook team once created a newsfeed that was very spaced out. Although the team liked it very much, it didn’t receive positive feedbacks from users so they had to take it back. Zuckerberg considered “The Social Network,” inaccurate and even found some of the things that they made up hurtful. The implication that he created Facebook to get girls when he was actually dating his present wife way before that bothered him very much. He moved on to explain about why he wears the same shirt every day; Zuckerberg considers fashion and clothes as things that are frivolous in his life.

Opinion

I watched the movie “The Social Network” years ago with my friends and thought that it was a true story. It’s sad to find out that some of the parts are made up because the real Mark Zuckerberg is not like the Zuckerberg illustrated in the movie. I would be sad and aggravated if someone illustrated me as a totally different person.

  1. Thanks Rachael. That was interesting. I haven’t seen Social Media yet, but I’m curious to see it one day. As someone not particularly interested in fashion, I like the idea of wearing the same clothes every day.. I kind of do that anyway^.
